Today we're thrilled to share that Replica has been awarded an Epic Megagrant.
The grant funding helps accelerate our growing library of synthetic AI voices for creators to tell bigger and more immersive stories through games, film and metaverse experiences using platforms like Unreal Engine.
Replica currently offer 50+ of the world's most exciting and inspiring AI voices for creators and storytellers, and are aiming for 100+ voices in 2022, including expanding across multiple languages.
In 2020, we launched a plugin to Epic Games Unreal Engine so that UE developers can produce dialogue and voice over lines with Replica voices and export them directly into the game or cinematic project they are working on.
This has enabled developers to iteratively test different character voices and experiment with narrative design within a matter of seconds, and refine their scripts and dialog throughout the life cycle of their project (i.e. through pre-production and pre-vis) rather than having to leave the voice acting for the final stages of production.
We also launched support for Replica voices with Metahuman Creator, Epic Games' latest platform for making realistic digital humans more accessible to creators.
To date, 100s of games, short films, various entertainment and metaverse experiences have shipped with Replica voices and we're incredibly proud to play our part in helping make their dreams into reality.
Some examples of games and animations made with Replica include
Scavengers, a free-to-play action shooter where squads of three compete to survive and dominate in a hybrid of sandbox-style PVE and class-based PVP.
Quantum Error, a game that's being developed in Unreal Engine 5 is a cosmic-horror FPS.
R.U.N, a SinglePlayer - Shoot 'Em Up - Fighting - Narrative Adventure with RPG elements in aCyberpunk-ish greedy and twisted world.
Time Breaker, a single player, first person puzzle game mixing puzzle and storyline, created by a solo developer.
We even helped an AI Woman of Colour find a voice.
Recently we rolled out our major product update for Projects and Scenes so creators and storytellers can easily produce and manage 100s of lines of dialogue and dozens of characters in an easy to use interface in Replica's app.
Replica is bringing voice to the Metaverse
Developers like Modbox, Sensorium Galaxy, Dinner Party are finding interesting ways to incorporate Replica voices into real-time player driven experiences.
We're incredibly grateful for the support from Epic Games and the Unreal Engine community and we're excited to continue growing our cast of AI voice actors. We'll continue developing better tools and workflows for creators to populate games and metaverses with interesting characters and tell immersive stories.
