Recording Your Voiceover
Let’s get recording. After we select “Voice Changer”, we have 2 options, either record directly through the app, or record elsewhere and upload the file once we’re done. We’re going to opt for the latter, so that we can show our work along the way. We’ll use Audacity, but you can use your favourite tool (Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, Reaper, Ableton or any other software capable of recording and saving audio).
It’s best to make sure you’re recording in a quiet environment, as the Voice Changer may attempt to “vocalise” unintentional noises in the audio that can lead to undesirable (although often hilarious) results. That being said, our sample recording was recorded on a laptop mic in an open plan office, so you don’t need extra special equipment to get great results.
One moderately embarrassing recording session later, and we have solid take to upload. You could opt to upload in multiple takes, or just upload in one big file.
